academic lab and looking for your first role in industry? Are you
currently an In Vivo Scientist with some experience in industry? We
are looking for a talented Scientist I or Scientist II level
candidate to join us at Insmed Cambridge. You will work cross
functionally to support all aspects of early target identification,
target validation, and drug discovery programs. You will thrive in
a fast-paced, collaborative, multidisciplinary team with the
mission of validating proprietary targets and contributing to drug
discovery programs that will impact patients living with
neurodegenerative, neuroinflammatory & cardiovascular rare
diseases. What You'll Do: Collaborate with programleadsand senior
leadership team on overall in vivo project plans. Supportthe
design, implementation, and evaluation of in vivo studies(both in
house as well as with CROs)to enable target identification, target
validation anddrug discoveryacross different projects. Plan and
executelab-based work followed by review and analysis of endpoint
data includingcharacterization ofmouse models(both via image and
behaviormethods), efficacy studiesandsmall-scalePK/PD studies, etc.
Prepare study reports,summariesand regulatory documents. Establish
strong working relationships withvivarium staff,CROs and academic
partners to collaborate and foster information exchange and to
enable efficient execution of work packages consistent with program
needs. Provide guidance and support for internal
stakeholdersonstudy design and data analysisandbest location to
execute these studies (either internal or byidentifyingsuitable
CROs to outsource these studies). Lead continuous improvement
activities,applyingproblem solving skills
toidentifyworkflowefficienciesandimplementingtechnology solutions
to enhance processes. Activelycontribute to a vibrant and
innovative working environment where improvements andnew ideasare
adopted and freely shared among the teams. Who You Are: Expertise
gained in either an academic lab or in industry working with
invivomodelswith both in-house& with externalpartners.
Qualifications and experience in relevant disease
biology-neurodegenerative,neuroinflammatoryorcardiovascular.
Exercises judgment in selecting suitable animal models, methods,
techniques and evaluation criteria to support projects. Current
UKHome OfficeLicenceholderwithprovenin vivoexperience and
experimental skills working with animal models. In-depth
understanding of requirements around regulated procedures and Home
Office licence requirements, providing welfare advice and support
for ongoingprojects. Expertise in tissue collection and processing,
mousemodel characterization such as behaviorphenotypingand/or
image-basedanalysis & complex dosing routes such as IT, ICV,ICMand
placement of cannulation for repeat dosingin mousewould
