Genetic Medicine External Innovation, reporting to Associate VP
Genetic Medicine External Innovation & Strategy, will help develop
and execute Lilly’s genetic medicine external innovation strategy
by providing key operations support for search & evaluation
activities. They will manage information flow within the team,
participate in calls and face to face meetings with external
companies together with members of the Lilly’s genetic medicine EI
team and corporate business development functions, and as
appropriate provide communication of technical evaluations to
internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Work with
stakeholders across external innovation, Lilly Research Labs, and
corporate business development as necessary to support the progress
of deals: Liaise with internal functions (legal, etc.) to ensure
policies are strictly adhered to and processes are smoothly
executed Record all relevant information into search & evaluation
caseload management information systems Execute and track CDAs, and
assist with execution of MTAs and sponsored research agreements
Provide clear reports and information, updated on a regular basis,
to monitor activity and progress against objectives Support the
identification and evaluation of new opportunities: Build and
maintain a thorough understanding of the external innovation
landscape, aligned to Lilly’s areas of interest Contribute to
identifying and evaluating opportunities that align with external
innovation strategy and priorities of Lilly’s genetic medicine
function and therapeutic areas Develop and maintain strong external
networks to enhance Lilly’s potential for productive business
relationships with external companies: Maintain contact channels
with potential partners in ongoing licensing projects Support team
members in identifying and developing contacts and relationships
with new potential partners Basic Requirements: Bachelor’s degree
with 1 years of relevant work experience (pharmaceutical, biotech,
consulting, or private equity industry is preferred). Qualified
applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a

Qualifications: Experience in project management within pharma
setting or equivalent, or experience in life science strategy e.g.,
consulting, equity research Evidence of the strong interpersonal
skills required to generate and maintain external networks to
support identification and evaluation of new business opportunities
Specific knowledge of genetic medicine (gene therapy, RNA therapy,
cell therapy) technology and/or industry landscape Basic knowledge
of pharmaceutical business and the drug development process Strong
project management and organizational skills Demonstrated maturity
and judgement to work on sensitive and often highly confidential
projects in full adherence to Lilly policies Excellent English
communication skills (written and oral) Strong database and
computer skills Awareness of industry trends and new areas of

on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic
location. The anticipated wage for this position is $67,500 -
$157,300 Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a
company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual
performance). In addition, Lilly offers a comprehensive benefit
