into an exciting time with its first ever product launch planned
for 2026. uniQure’s lead program, AMT-130, a one-time gene therapy
for adult patients with Huntington’s Disease, has received RMAT and
Breakthrough Designation from the FDA. The Head of Sales and
Account Management will lead the buildout of the Sales and Account
Management Leads and develop the Sales and Account Management
strategy to effectively launch and drive uptake of AMT-130. The
role will closely collaborate and coordinate plans with Commercial
(including Marketing, Market Access, and Patient Services) and
Medical Affairs. The Sales and Account Management Leads, who report
into the Head of Sales and Account Management, will be considered
the central coordination lead for treatment center activity, and
will be the bridge between strategy with execution; They will serve
as the main point of contact for treatment centers pre- and
post-onboarding and will execute treatment center activation. Key
result areas (major duties, accountabilities and responsibilities)
• Contribute to the strategic direction and development of in field
executional plans in partnership with the core functional leads. •
Lead a team of approximately 4-5 Regional Account Directors, tasked
with building their teams and delivering patient and business
value. • Ensure team meets or exceeds targets following all
compliance expectations. • Develop a strategic plan to outline
national and regional objectives including competencies and
capabilities. • Lead the sales and account management organization
pre-launch and launch planning to support maximum uptake at
approval. • Provide input to the Commercial Operations team on
design the incentive compensation plan and the call plan, targets,
expectations and tracking to effectively measure performance. •
Partner with training to develop coaching frameworks and capability
to successfully engage in the field. • Collaborate with Marketing,
Market Access, Patient Support Services, Commercial Operations,
Medical Affairs, Legal, Compliance and other internal stakeholders;
monitor progress and drive course correction where necessary. •
Establish appropriate U.S. targets and objectives, support
definition of key performance indicators (KPIs) and proactively
monitor and adjust incentives and metrics to drive success. •
Conduct field visits and national team meetings to align teams,
monitor execution, identify issues/opportunities and define new
actions. Be deeply involved in the recruitment and onboarding of
the Sales and Account Directors; Coach and Develop field team
members to help support retention of high performers and improve
performance of mid-low performers Qualifications • Seasoned
commercial leader with 15 years U.S. leadership experience in
sales, commercial operations, and/or account management in
pharmaceutical / biotech organizations • BA/BS Required • MBA
and/or other advanced scientific degree preferred (i.e., MBA, MPH
or PharmD). • Previous second line management and U.S. Specialty /
Rare / Gene or Cell Therapy product launch and buildout experience
preferred. • Working knowledge of how to work within Centers of
Excellence and Academic Centers; knowledge of how to compliantly
work with case management, field reimbursement, and medical science
liaison teams required. • Must be familiar with relevant legal and
regulatory environment in biotech/pharmaceutical industry. •
Demonstrated knowledge of working total accounts / treatment
centers • Proven track record in driving culture of accountability.
• Effective planning, prioritization, management, and
organizational skills. • Ability to clearly communicate complex
messages, accurately. To understand specific needs of intended
audience and tailor communication accordingly, detail oriented with
ability to understand big picture impact. • Works collaboratively
across expertise areas and functions; seeks to advance higher
goals; highly regarded across stakeholders both at senior and
junior levels; inspires trust at all levels; patient-centric, and
passionate for innovation and discovery. • Must be comfortable
spending 50% of the time traveling to visit customers, attend
conferences and attend meetings in the Lexington (MA) office. •
Candidate must have a valid U.S. driver’s license to be considered.
