The Mechanical Product Team uses state-of the-art tools, processes, technology, and RMD's Six Sigma principles. MPT's capabilities encompass a broad range of technical disciplines which include engineering, manufacturing, technical services, materials, processes, analysis, test, and documentation. -The Air Defense Ground Equipment (ADGE) Department leads mechanical design, development, and integration of platform systems. This includes shelter systems, hardware integration, cable & interconnections, as well as facility development, and site integration. The department is comprised of individuals with technical expertise and experience in hardware design, integration, and production support. -The ADGE department is looking for a full-time Senior Mechanical Engineer, located in Tewksbury, MA (On-site)What You Will Do

• Perform mechanical design, development, and documentation of components, sub-assemblies, and major end items for defense system equipment in accordance with system requirements
• Mechanical design, development, and documentation of cables, harnesses, and connectors to meet defense system requirements
• Key contributor to small to mid-sized cross functional teams as a technical lead through all phases of development from proposal generation, program start up, requirements allocation, preliminary and detailed design development, and production
• Hands-on lead and mentor to the engineering team as a technical expert within the integrated product team environment
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, non-technical disciplines, and suppliers to develop robust design solutions and resolve technical challenges
• Work with limited supervision and meet technical, schedule, and monetary commitments
• Participate in design peer reviews and conduct trade studies to promote sound technical decisions
• Apply knowledge and experience in technical problem solving and hardware development in an engaged team environment
• Engage in personal technical growth and facilitate technical growth in peers and junior engineers. - Take an active role in understanding what opportunities are needed to mature the organization on the technical front
• Drawing generation, drawing release, and drawing change incorporation
• Working with manufacturing and suppliers to evaluate technical change requestsQualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience.
  • Experience in designing and developing cables and harnesses, preferably for use in Military environments, defense, and/or commercial systems.
  • Experience with CAD design (CREO, AutoCAD preferred)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.Qualifications We Prefer
    • Military cable and electromechanical system design/troubleshooting experience
    • ASME Y14.5 GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) experience
    • Strong CAD design experience (CREO, AutoCAD preferred)
    • Experience with CREO for creating Cable models and drawings

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
