The Faculty of Agriculture, Dalhousie University is a small research-intensive campus located in Truro, NS. Description of duties JOB DESCRIPTION:
The successful applicant will teach diploma, undergraduate, and graduate level weed science and related courses. He/she is expected to supervise undergraduate honors, graduate and doctoral students and carry out research in this discipline with the intent to publish in scholarly journals.
Attracting and maintaining research funding from national, regional and provincial funding agencies is expected. Building strong connections with the agri-food industry both from a teaching and research perspective will be critical. The applicant must have a strong commitment to teaching, research and service to the university and agricultural industries.

Qualifications sought Applicants must have a Ph.D. in weed science or vegetation management. Post-doctoral experience for at least one year would be considered an asset. Evidence of teaching ability at undergraduate, graduate or technical levels, a record of independent and/or collaborative research and publication in peer-reviewed scholarly journals, and a demonstrated ability or strong potential to build a successful research program are required.
Knowledge of the agricultural sector is highly desirable, as is experience working in multi-disciplinary groups and with industry partners. The successful candidate will also possess professionalism, collegiality, resourcefulness, innovation, leadership skills, self-motivation, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
