About the Organization:
Inside the walls of Nantucket Cottage Hospital, our team of
experienced doctors and clinicians are proud to offer a broad range
of health and wellness services that include primary, emergency and
surgical care, along with a host of outpatient services and
diagnostic testing, that allow Nantucket residents to receive most
of the care they need right here on the island. In 2019, Nantucket
Cottage Hospital opened a brand-new community hospital, the first
new standalone hospital built in the state in more than 40 years.
The new, 106,000 square-foot Nantucket Cottage Hospital has
enhanced patient care, safety and privacy, while providing our
staff with state-of-the-art equipment and technology in a
cutting-edge facility that is conducive to collaboration and
teamwork. Through our affiliation with Massachusetts General
Hospital, we are able to give Nantucket residents and visitors the
best of both worlds: the comfort and familiarity of a small,
community hospital paired with the world-class medical resources of
one of the top-ranked hospitals in the country.
About Nantucket Island:
Join us to work at Massachusetts' newest hospital and live on
historic Nantucket Island - ranked by National Geographic as the
"Best Island in the World"! Nantucket, or the "The Faraway Island"
as it was known in the language of the native Wampanoag tribe, is
located 30 miles off the south coast of Cape Cod, accessible by
year-round high-speed ferry and commuter airplane services.
Nantucket is 14 miles in length and 3 1/2 miles wide, with nearly
60 percent of its land permanently protected as conservation
property. An island of pristine beauty, Nantucket has something to
offer everyone. Island residents experience the hustle and bustle
of the core downtown district or the quiet solitude of the moors,
peruse the many art galleries along the wharves, visit
critically-acclaimed museums and historic sites, as well as dine at
renowned restaurants and shop for island treasures at many of the
boutiques and shops in town. Nantucket also features miles and
miles of beautiful bike paths and with over 80 miles of beaches, it
isn't too hard to find your own private stretch of sand along
Nantucket Sound or the Atlantic Ocean. The island has a year-round
population of over 17,000 residents that swells to nearly 50,000
people during July and August.
