Purpose of the role We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Global Supply Chain to lead the end-to-end supply chain strategy for launching our first commercial gene therapy product. This role will be responsible for building and optimizing the Supply Chain function, ensuring seamless product launch, including identifying and maintaining robust relationships with CMOs for labeling and packaging, distribution partners, and regulatory agencies. Place in the Organization Global Supply Chain is a department within Technical Operations and Quality. This position reports directly to the Chief Technology Operations Officer (CTOO) and will be part of the Leadership Team within Technical Operations and Quality. This role will partner closely with the Commercial Organization to ensure timely and uninterrupted product supply. Key result areas (major duties, accountabilities, and responsibilities) • Develop and execute a comprehensive commercial supply chain strategy to support the successful launch and sustained supply of uniQure’s gene therapy products. • Build and scale an end-to-end supply chain function, including Operations procurement, logistics, inventory management, and distribution. • Develop and deliver effective S&OP Process to align cross-functional teams and drive aligned business plans to improve Supply Planning, increase Service Levels, optimize inventory levels, and achieve our Financial Targets. • Defines standards and approach for our business process management across Supply Chain. • Oversee supply and demand planning to ensure on-time delivery and availability of commercial products. • Establish and maintain strong relationships with CMOs, CDMOs, logistics providers, and distributors to ensure supply chain efficiency and risk mitigation. • Develop a standard set of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive business results and to serve as early warning signs of problem performance e.g. inventory health, schedule adherence. • Work with IT to identify and standardize a core set of information system solutions and data analytics platforms to digitalize uniQure’s supply chain processes. • Partner with Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Commercial teams to ensure seamless integration of supply chain strategies. • Develop and manage relationships with key external partners, ensuring alignment on supply chain goals and objectives. • Provide strategic leadership on risk management, business continuity planning, and supply chain resilience. Qualifications & Skills: • University degree in Technology, Engineering. • A Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Supply Chain Management preferred. • MBA or advanced degree preferred. • APICS certification is strongly favored. • 10 years of progressive experience leading biopharmaceutical Supply Chain management, a strong focus on gene therapy is preferred. • 15 years (BA/BS) or 10 years (MS) in various Supply Chain, Project Management, and Manufacturing functions • Proven track record of launching commercial products, including building and scaling supply chain functions. • Extensive experience managing CMOs, CDMOs, and distribution chain partners. • Deep understanding of regulatory requirements for gene therapy commercialization, with direct experience in regulatory agency interactions. • Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with a strategic and hands-on approach • Solid experience in developing and directing Operational Excellence function as well as depth in process design across E2E supply chain spectrum. • Strong discernment and problem-solving capabilities, with direct, applied experience in Supply Chain. • Well organized – a natural ability to be organized in how you think, communicate, and conduct your work • You drive for results – you set a high bar for yourself and others. You love what you do, and demonstrate enthusiasm to motivate others • Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written) to collaborate with senior CMC Management in a dynamic, cross-functional matrix environment – you are outgoing, communicative, and seek to build relationships daily • Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and oral • Strong leader with the ability to influence and lead a large geographically diverse organization.
