Dental Hygienist Full-Time or Part-Time Position Reports to: Clinical Director Position Summary: Performs dental hygiene duties to promote quality dental care for our patients in a stress?free, safe environment. Provides effective oral hygiene instruction, scaling, prophylaxis, conducts x-rays (DEXIS), documentation, patient and parent education. Follows universal precautions, OSHA and HIPAA requirements to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Stocks and maintains office, equipment and inventory. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. Job Specifications: Current State of MA Dental Hygiene license BLS Certification Current Hepatitis vaccine Continuing education requirements fulfilled Competencies: Adhere to all HIPAA policies and procedures, protecting private information Ability to work independently and as part of a team, asking for assistance when needed. Positively represents CDA to patients and families by exhibiting excellent communication and human relations skills Maintains a friendly attitude at all times, and works well with children (if in pediatrics). Ability to work well with and manage conflict with difficult patients and/or parents. Works well with interruptions and effectively manages multiple priorities, completing tasks in a timely manner, and able to work effectively and efficiently under pressure to stay on schedule. Exhibits professional behavior and is respectful of all CDA staff, patients and outside representatives at all times. Works well with doctors, administrators, supervisors, and colleagues. Speak, understand, and write fluent English. Possess and maintain current knowledge of dentistry. Demonstrate manual dexterity skills. Adheres to all Chestnut Dental policies and procedures as outlined in the CDA Employee Handbook. Physical Requirements: Must be able to withstand many hours of standing, walking, stooping, bending, and sitting. Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and adequate vision required in daily work.
