Job Description Job Description About the Role: As an MRI
Technologist based in Boston, MA, you will play a critical role in
the diagnostic imaging team by performing magnetic resonance
imaging (MRI) procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing medical
conditions. You will be responsible for preparing patients for MRI
scans, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the procedure,
and operating advanced MRI equipment to capture high-quality
images. Your expertise will contribute directly to accurate
diagnoses and effective treatment planning by producing clear and
precise imaging results. Collaboration with radiologists, nurses,
and other healthcare professionals will be essential to optimize
patient care and workflow efficiency. Additionally, you will
maintain compliance with safety protocols and regulatory standards
to uphold the highest quality of service in the imaging department.
Minimum Qualifications: Completion of an accredited MRI
Technologist program or equivalent education. Current certification
as an MRI Technologist (e.g., ARRT MRI certification) or
eligibility to obtain certification. Valid state licensure to
practice as an MRI Technologist in Massachusetts. Demonstrated
knowledge of MRI safety standards and patient care procedures.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients
and healthcare team members. Preferred Qualifications: Experience
working in a hospital or clinical setting with a high volume of MRI
procedures. Additional certifications such as CPR/BLS and advanced
imaging modalities. Familiarity with electronic medical records
(EMR) systems and imaging software. Ability to handle pediatric and
geriatric patients with sensitivity and professionalism.
Participation in professional organizations related to radiologic
technology. Responsibilities: Prepare and position patients
appropriately for MRI scans, explaining procedures to alleviate
patient anxiety and ensure cooperation. Operate MRI equipment to
capture detailed images of patients’ internal structures, adjusting
technical parameters as needed for optimal image quality. Monitor
patients during imaging procedures to ensure their safety and
respond promptly to any adverse reactions or emergencies.
Collaborate with radiologists to review images for quality and
assist in identifying any technical issues requiring repeat scans.
Maintain accurate patient records, imaging logs, and equipment
maintenance reports in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Adhere strictly to safety protocols related to MRI technology,
including screening patients for contraindications such as metal
implants. Participate in ongoing training and professional
development to stay current with advances in MRI technology and
best practices. Skills: The required skills enable the MRI
Technologist to operate complex imaging equipment safely and
efficiently while ensuring patient comfort and compliance with
safety protocols. Strong communication skills are essential for
explaining procedures to patients and collaborating with the
healthcare team to deliver accurate diagnostic information.
Technical proficiency allows for the adjustment of imaging
parameters to produce high-quality images critical for diagnosis.
Preferred skills such as experience with EMR systems and additional
certifications enhance workflow efficiency and patient care
quality. Continuous learning and adaptability are important to keep
pace with technological advancements and evolving best practices in
