The Southeast Emergency Services Assistant Director provides direct assessment and consultation services to children and adults in crisis. The Assistant Director assesses each person's needs for services and develops a treatment plan that best ensures for their safety and optimizes their effective resolution of the crisis. S/he facilitates the person's engagement or re-engagement in behavioral health services through referral to community based services that are consonant with the person's needs and preferences. As needed, the Assistant Director facilitates the person's admission to acute treatment services. The Assistant Director works as part of an Urgent Care Center that provides on site assessment and support, as well as mobile capacity to conduct assessments at the person's home, school, or agency on Cape Cod. S/he works as a partner in an integrated urgent care/emergency support servicesnetwork (and as a result may provide services in the CCS). Given the nature of crisis services, provision of holiday and weekend coverage are expectations for staff working in this position. This position is exempt.
Essential Functions of Position:Ensure completion of tasks, follow up, and case assignments pertinent to MCI (Mobile CrisisIntervention).Conduct assessments and provide oversight of ongoing case management of active MCI cases.Provide support to Service Director and oversee staff, students and support/peer personnel withsupervision of staff, supervision and training of students.Sharing of administrative on call in rotation with Service Director (24/7/365 coverage).Ability to provide leadership and support to other components of Emergency Services.Provides services in a manner that is consonant with program, Bay Cove, and collaborative agencies'standards, policies, and procedures.Completes assessments of children and adults who are in crisis in a comprehensive manner attendingto their safety and needs.Develops treatment plans with and for the person in crisis that utilize community based health,behavioral health, and social services that will ameliorate the presenting crisis.Works with the person in crisis and their support network to fortify their strengths and coping skills.Works collaboratively with members of the Emergency Services and collateral helpers in the service ofstrengthening and integrating support and treatment supports and to accomplish the overallprogram's mission.Assists the person in crises with engagement or reengagement in needed services.Documents all assessments and interventions in accordance with program and Bay Cove standards.Secures as needed financial and insurance related information to facilitate billing and payment forservices rendered.Recognizes the importance of individual and cultural differences that influence behavior and appliessuch understanding to each person's situation.Utilizes individual supervision and team meetings in the service of optimizing the program's overallmission.Maintains requisite continuing professional education as required by licensure, professionalstandards and Bay Cove policies.Works effectively with police, EMS, and other law enforcement personnel to ensurethe client's safety.Facilitates admission to acute inpatient care on an as needed basis.Relates to clients, family members, and colleagues in a professional, hopeful, and respectful manner.Provides brief treatment and support until requisite community services can be accessed in order tominimize reliance on acute inpatient services.Performs all other duties and projects as assigned by the Program Director.

Can determine the person's needs for services,refer to the appropriate resource(s), and facilitate the person's engagement in these servicesDemonstrated knowledge of the evaluation process, including presenting problem, social, family,psychiatric, legal, and medical history. Capacity to effectively assess mental status, formulate a plan,and develop and implement an appropriate disposition for all clientsDemonstrated ability to identify needs and strengths, assist in planning, implementing and evaluatingcare of individuals and their families in conjunction with an array of community resources.Demonstrated professional documentation skills
Physical RequirementsMust be able to drive to different locations.Must have the ability to assess children and adults in their homes and apartments with stairs.Must be able to observe the person in crisis, noting symptoms and nonverbal behaviors
Qualifications:Licensed Masters level clinician.Minimally 3 years experience working in a mental health setting.Excellent writing and oral communication skills.Current Massachusetts Driver's License and use of reliable personal vehicle for work related travelPersonal Characteristics:Demonstrated ability to work in a pressured situation and maintain clarity, focus, judgment, andcompassionFlexibilityAbility to work with people in crisis in a hopeful and compassionate mannerAbility to communicate concerns effectively to other team members and ask for help as neededAbility to work independently
