Job Description Job Description Description: Job Summary: The
Oil Service Technician will be responsible for performing service
and maintenance on oil heating systems in residential, commercial,
or industrial settings. The Oil Service Technician will inspect and
test equipment, replace parts, and make necessary adjustments or
repairs. Measurements of Success: Oil Service Examines heating
systems to locate any issues such as leaks or malfunctions. Use
diagnostic tools to identify specific problems and determine the
best solutions. Installs oil heating systems, including oil tanks,
boilers, and burners, according to manufacturer's specifications
and safety regulations. Conducts routine service checks on oil
heating systems, replaces worn or defective parts, and makes
adjustments to ensure efficient operation. This might involve
cleaning nozzles, filters, or burners, and adjusting thermostats.
Tests systems to ensure they are working correctly and safely. This
might involve checking for leaks, ensuring all controls are
functioning, and testing the overall performance of the system.
Maintains accurate records of each service visit, documenting work
performed, parts used, repairs, tests, safety inspection and other
relevant information. Prepares reports as needed. Safety and
Compliance Complies with all safety guidelines and procedures to
ensure a safe working environment. Adheres to all safety
regulations and stays up to date on industry best practices,
ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
related to work. Wears appropriate PPE/safety gear and following
protocols for handling hazardous materials. Conducts thorough
inspections, assesses conditions, and identifies potential
problems. Identifies and troubleshoot problems, tracing issues to
their source and implementing effective solutions. Communication
Liaise with other members of the oilfield team, including
engineers, drill operators, and managers. Communicates effectively
about equipment status, potential problems, and maintenance
schedules. Provides excellent customer service by explaining to
clients the work performed, giving necessary operational
instructions, and offering advice on maintenance. Interacts with
clients professionally and courteously. Listen to their concerns,
provide expert advice, and address any questions they may have.
Other Attends all required training, seminars, and workshops.
Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements: What it Takes:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Possession of relevant
licenses and certifications, as required by local or state
regulations. Must possess a valid driver’s license. A minimum of
two years of related experience required. Ability to identify and
resolve related issues efficiently and effectively. Strong
troubleshooting skills are essential in diagnosing complex
problems. Proficient in using a wide range of tools, including
wrenches, pipe cutters, drills, soldering equipment, electrical
testers etc. Extensive knowledge of lock out/tag out, hazmat, and
combustible material. Excellent communication skills to interact
with clients, colleagues, and other professionals in a clear and
courteous manner. Committed to maintaining a safe working
environment and following safety protocols to prevent accidents.
Ability to drive a company vehicle. Must be detail oriented to
ensure all installations and repairs are done correctly and safely.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at
times. Work may be performed outside in high and low temperatures.
Work may be performed in confined spaces.
