This opportunity seeks experienced Special Education Teachers to support elementary students in a self-contained classroom setting within a K-12 school environment. The position offers a contract for the school year 2025/2026, with part-time hours ranging from 30 to 32.5 per week. Location: Cranston, RI Key Responsibilities: - Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of elementary students with diverse learning abilities. - Manage a self-contained classroom environment, fostering a supportive and inclusive atmosphere. - Collaborate with Teaching Assistants assigned to each classroom to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. - Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal guidelines. - Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed. - Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administrators to support student development. Qualifications and Desired Experience: - Valid Special Education teaching certification. - Experience working with elementary-aged students in special education settings. - Ability to create and maintain an organized, nurturing classroom environment. - Strong collaboration skills to work alongside teaching assistants and support staff. - Knowledge of state education standards and special education regulations.
